This year’s Caffè Culture proved another success for UK hospitality industry market leaders First Choice Coffee with visitors to the stand enjoying cutting-edge technology as well as top quality coffees and teas from award-winning ethical brand Java Republic.
Spyder – One of a kind
At the show First Choice Coffee unveiled Spyder – the latest in wireless telemetry technology – with live demonstrations and experts on hand to answer questions about this totally unique, patented device. Spyder can be used alongside First Choice equipment to help operators deliver consistently high quality espresso, keeping them constantly updated on how their equipment is performing. It can even monitor sales data, tracking quantities and varieties sold, sales mix - allowing operators to identify their business patterns and machine usage to maximise coffee sales.
“Spyder is set to revolutionise the market – using advanced technology to monitor the espresso flow times of coffee machines as well as tracking the life span of water filters, grinder blades and even room and fridge temperatures. It got a great response at this year’s show – there really is nothing else like it. We’ve conducted extensive field tests in some of our most demanding sites and judging from the excellent results it’s something that will be in high demand from our customers,” commented Elaine Higginson, managing director, First Choice Coffee.
The system, which is simply attached to the machine, is constantly connected to the database via a GPRS data link – so no phone lines are required. Email and text alerts keep operators up-to-date, allowing them to check on equipment 24/7.
Some of the biggest names in the industry have made First Choice equipment their choice and visitors were treated to a preview of the new second-generation Black and White bean-to-cup equipment. Precision built in Switzerland by expert technicians, the design offers an enlarged brewing chamber for extra large drinks, coffee bean cooling for coffee quality and enhanced functionality – perfect for producing large volumes of speciality coffee at the touch of a button.
The new Adonis traditional espresso machine was also on the stand – bringing some old school glamour back to the art of perfecting the cappuccino. Hand–crafted, the Adonis makes a serious design statement on any bar and has the technology to back up its looks, utilising unique brewing technology to provide an easy-to-use system that will enable any outlet to serve quality, consistent coffee.
To celebrate its recent appointment as exclusive distributor of Java Republic’s award-winning premium Real Leaf Speciality Teas, First Choice Coffee had the full range available at their stand. The teas are sourced from some of the world’s best growers and as Java Republic actively supports the culture of care in the tea industry operators could be sure that they were leaving with a cuppa that’s green and great tasting.
First Choice also offered visitors the finest in coffee quality with Java Republic coffee beans. Made with exceptional attention to detail the premium beans are hand-roasted by master roasters with over three decades of experience before slowly roasting at a low heat. The beans are naturally cooled and stirred in an open tray to maintain the full depth of flavour. Java Republic is also committed to providing ‘coffee with a conscience’ and all its coffee beans are bought either from Fairtrade certified suppliers or directly from growers and co-operatives.
