FIRST CHOICE COFFEE HELPS PUBS RISE ABOVE THE SMOKING BAN
25 Jan 2008

Figures published in The Times* this week show that providing great tasting coffee could be the perfect way to beat the downturn in sales pubs have faced in the wake of the smoking ban. In fact JD Wetherspoon sold over a million teas and coffees over the Christmas fortnight.

"A good quality coffee offering can provide a really big profit making opportunity for pubs. All branches of Wetherspoon's have our market-leading Swiss manufactured Black and White machines, allowing them to produce large volumes of consistent, quality coffee and meet the demand for premium coffee with ease," comments Elaine Higginson, managing director of First Choice Coffee.

"Pubs have had to raise their game to counteract the smoking ban and show customers that they can serve coffee that is of the same high quality that they have come to expect elsewhere on the high street. These latest figures show just how profitable coffee can be for pubs and here at First Choice we have the equipment, beans and experience necessary to help pubs move into this growing market," concludes Elaine.
